The site at Denham Way is at the end of a cul de sac within existing residential development and was a vacant parcel of land that had become overgrown with vegetation since the demolition of Verney House. Planning had been secured for four build-to-rent dwellings which would match the existing urban grain and the suburban density level, with a similar vernacular to the palette of existing buildings.
PWP Architects was engaged to provide services beyond planning and ensure the dwellings were completed to an exceptional level of quality under a strict budget.
The development consists of two blocks: a detached house; and a semi-detached house and two apartments accessible via a central glazed circulation space, with four, three and two-bedrooms, respectively. Each dwelling features bespoke kitchens, bathrooms, and other joinery items. The buildings themselves are clad in red brick, off-white render, and horizontal composite timber cladding, with black/blue slate tile roofs and grey PPC aluminium detailing. The detached house featured a floor-to-ceiling glazed window within the main feature gable, creating a winter garden space at first floor level.
