Warblington Road

Warblington Road

Location:  Emsworth, Hampshire

Client:  Private Client

RIBA Plan of Work stages:  0-7

Warblington Road is a substantial detached dwelling within a largely residential area characterised by large, detached dwellings set within modest plots, primarily clad in brick and render, with slate and clay tile roofs. The property is in a focal point at the end of Clovelly Road and is within 300m of the Chichester Harbour.

PWP Architects was tasked with securing planning to extend the property, reconfigure the building internally, and modernise the external façade.

The existing utilitarian house has been substantially remodelled to create a more contemporary dwelling, with the house being completely re-clad with render broken up with vertical cementitious cladding to the proposed two-storey gabled extension to the front elevation and re-roofed with slate tiles. Internally, the living, kitchen/dining, and master bedroom spaces have been enlarged, with the two-storey extension forming a new double height hall/reception space.

A further application to extend the single storey roof over the garage to form a timber structure carport also received planning approval.
